Yashwant Singh Parmar (4 August 1906 – 2 May 1981) was an Indian politician. He was a leader of the Indian National Congress and the first Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh state.

Jai Ram Thakur has been sworn in as the 14th Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh along with 11 other ministers at a ceremony in Shimla. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah, BJP veteran L K Advani and a host of union ministers.

Dharamshala is the second capital of Himachal Pradesh. On 19 January 2017, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh declared Dharamshala the second capital of the state of Himachal Pradesh, making Himachal Pradesh the third state of India with two capitals after Jammu and Kashmir and Maharashtra.

The Kangra district is bounded on the South West by the Una district; on the North West by district Gurdaspur of Punjab, on the North by Lahaul-Spiti and Chamba districts, on the East by Kullu and Mandi districts, while on South it touches Hamirpur district.
